Integration with Google Meet

  • This feature integrates Google Meet with Bookify, allowing users and staff to easily schedule, manage, and stay updated on their online meetings through Google Meet and Google Calendar.

Back-End Settings

  • To integrate Bookify with Google Meet, you must first set up the Client ID and Client Secret.
  • You can create your Client ID and Client Secret by following the instructions provided in this link
  • Once the Google Cloud setup is complete, go to the WordPress Admin Dashboard > Bookify > Settings.
  • Select the Integration Settings tab.
  • Activate the Enable Google Calendar toggle button.
  • Once enabled, additional fields will be displayed. Activate the Enable Google Meet toggle button.
  • Next, paste the copied Client ID and Client Secret in their respective fields.
  • Once done, click the Save button.
  • Now, navigate to the Admin Dashboard > Bookify > Services.
  • Click the Add Service button to create a service for Google Meet.
  • Once clicked, a window will pop up. Fill in the required fields and activate the Google Meet toggle button.

Please note: The Google Meet toggle button in the Add Service section will be disabled if it is not activated under Admin Dashboard > Bookify > Settings > Integrations.

  • The Google Meet service has been successfully created.
  • Now navigate to Admin Dashboard > Bookify > Staff.
  • Select a staff member and click on the edit icon.
  • Scroll in the Staff Details section and click the Sign in with Google button.
  • After clicking, the admin will be redirected to the Google authentication page to enter the staff’s credentials.
  • Now, click the Next button.
  • Once clicked, the staff will be synced with Google.

Please note: If the app isn’t verified in Google Cloud Console, the admin will see a Google hasn’t verified this app warning when syncing with Google Calendar. To resolve this, the admin must configure the OAuth consent screen, set the app to In Production, and submit it for verification. If the admin doesn’t verify the app, the admin can still proceed by clicking Advanced > Go to app (unsafe), but this is not recommended for production environments due to potential security risks. Verification ensures safe and seamless syncing.

  • After the staff is successfully synced with Google, a Sign out from Google button will become visible. Clicking this button allows the admin to sign out of Google.

Please note: Make sure the Google Meet service is assigned to the staff’s list of services.

Front-End Impact

  • Go to the website.
  • Log in using a customer account.
  • Go to the Bookify page, choose the Google Meet service, and click the Next Step button to continue.
  • Now, book an appointment by selecting your preferred date and time.
  • Once the appointment is booked, the customer will receive an email containing the Google Meet link.
  • The customer can accept, tentatively accept, or decline the invitation.
  • When the customer selects a response, an email is automatically sent to the staff. In this example, the customer selected Yes, and as you can see, the staff receive a notification via email.
  • The staff members can see the appointment in their Google Calendar.
